WHAT THEY TELL YOU: Spanish men are very sexually straightforward.
WHAT THEY DON´T TELL YOU: Spanish men have the libido equivilent to one thousand and forty five teenaged boys in their pubesecent prime. One can walk around in practically sweats, although this writer would not dare to commit such a fashion monstrosity, and one would still feel like a Sex Goddess. Cat calls, goggling eyes, and propositions alike pour forth from the mouths of these sex-greedy men. It is both the most entertaining and most disgusting feeling that I can humanly feel all at once.

WHAT THEY TELL YOU: Spanish food is really good.
WHAT THEY DON´T TELL YOU: SPANISH FOOD IS FUCKING AMAZING. YOU WILL EAT EVERYTHING. YOU WILL INHALE FOOD. SWALLOW IT WHOLE. CHEWING IS NOT NECESSARY. IT IS ALL CONSUMING. IT IS THE BEST YOU´VE EVER HAD. YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT, BUT YOU WILL DIE HAPPY. ALSO, SUCKS FOR YOU THAT YOU´RE STUDYING IN LONDON, RACHEL. WHAT AN IDIOT!

WHAT THEY TELL YOU: Those Spanish people take, like, really long siestas (naps).
WHAT THEY DON´T TELL YOU: Practically everything closes down between the hours of 2-5 in the afternoon. You go home. You eat a very large lunch. Then you sleep. Then you maybe go back to work. IF you feel like it. Why hasn´t the rest of the world followed suit again?

WHAT THEY TELL YOU: Spaniards know how to parrrrttyyyy.
WHAT THEY DON´T TELL YOU: In every room in every house comes equipped with the most light-blockading shutters you will ever see. Coming home at 6a after a night of libations then feels like coming home at 2a after a night of libations—because aforementioned shutters give the illusion that it is still dark outside rather than the sun beginning its morning rise. I was unaware of the time and of the sun, and woke up in a still-darkened room thinking it was quite early. But no, it was 4 in the afternoon. Tricky little bastards.

WHAT THEY TELL YOU: You should visit Spain at least once in your life.
WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU: It is mandatory. GO.
