A Letter to You Compassionate Souls,
I would very much like to receive a care package while I am here abroad in London, only because if we were to explicate the meaning of ‘care package’ we would find that you, the generous and magnanimous sender, demonstrate your care for me, the recipient. In this case, I, the recipient, am in want of some very essential items to better facilitate my living abroad needs. Items include but are not limited to: carne aside fries (even better if delivered fresh; also, I, the recipient, know that this might be tricky, so item is all the more appreciated if sent), authentic guacamole, tabasco sauce, tapatio hot sauce, tortillas, King’s tacos, tacos from any Los Angeles food truck really, apparently all-things-Mexican-food, French Vanilla creamer, my bed—notwithstanding my pillows, more of my favorite books, portable speakers—so to better hear this lovely music my dear, photos of those familiar faces I miss, more of my favorite pens (they are exclusively sold at your nearby Staples; ZEBRA Jimnie Gel Rollerball, medium fine point), NYQUIL, and a sobering sense of academic motivation. I, the recipient, would also like you to remember to send a heartfelt note, perhaps a few lines of hoo-ha and blah blah, because every day I, the recipient, check my mail and find that Rachel Trillo has received no mail, it is like the Universe is telling me that I, the recipient, have no friends, you silly little girl, even when I, the recipient, know for a fact that this isn’t true. Direct all letters and care packages to the following address, and note that all postage and packaging costs can be forwarded to the recipient’s agent:
AIFS Dilke House
1 Malet Street
London WCE1JN
United Kingdom
